Job SummaryNY Waterway Tours is seeking an experienced and dynamic Tours Sales & Marketing Manager to lead our marketing and sales initiatives. This role will drive brand and product awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth through strategic tour sales & marketing campaigns, partnerships, and sales strategies and initiatives in tour product placement, distribution and sales with tour operators, online travel agencies (OTAs), and other tour product sales channels.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, creative, results‑driven leader with a passion for tourism and a proven track record in tour and/or leisure travel product sales and marketing.
- Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive tour sales & marketing strategies to increase tour bookings, enhance brand visibility, and drive revenue growth. - Brand Management:
Oversee the development and execution of branding initiatives to strengthen NY Waterway Tours’ position as a leading tourism provider in NYC. - Digital Marketing:
Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media campaigns, email marketing, and website management, to attract and retain customers. - Sales Leadership:
Manage and motivate the sales team to achieve targets, including direct sales, group bookings, and corporate partnerships. - Partnerships and Collaborations:
Identify and cultivate relationships with tourism boards, hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, and other partners to expand market reach and generate sales. - Advertising Campaigns:
Plan and execute multi‑channel advertising campaigns, including Google, digital, social, print, radio, and other online platforms to generate tour product sales. - Market Research:
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning to inform strategy. - Budget Management:
Develop and manage marketing and sales budgets, ensuring cost‑effective allocation of resources. - Customer
Experience:
Collaborate with operations to ensure marketing promises align with the customer experience, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty. - Reporting and Analytics:
Monitor and report on key performance metrics, using data to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years travel industry sales & marketing experience
, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in tours, tourism, hospitality, or leisure travel products. - Proven success in developing and executing tour marketing campaigns that drive revenue and brand awareness.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, social media advertising, and CRM systems.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience building partnerships and negotiating contracts.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in using data to drive decisions.
- Passion for tourism and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the tourism or travel industry, particularly with sightseeing or transportation services.
- Familiarity with the NYC tourism market and key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) or content creation platforms.
- Knowledge of ticketing systems and e-commerce platforms.
