The Maintenance Technician II is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Weehawken, NJ, responsible for maintaining the physical condition and appearance of the residential community. Day‑to‑day tasks include performing routine and emergency maintenance and repair on building systems, equipment, and apartment interiors, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances. The role involves conducting regular inspections, completing preventive maintenance tasks, and responding promptly to resident service requests while ensuring safety and compliance with company standards and regulations.
The Maintenance Technician II also assists with unit turns, common area upkeep, and vendor coordination, and may support capital improvement projects as needed. This position works closely with the property management team to provide a high level of resident satisfaction and operational reliability.
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for residential or multifamily properties.
- Ability to perform Troubleshooting on building systems and equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Background in Industrial Maintenance or similar environment is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety practices.
- Effective communication and customer service skills when interacting with residents, team members, and vendors.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights, use hand and power tools, and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Prior experience as a maintenance technician in residential or multifamily housing preferred; relevant trade certifications or licenses are a plus.
