Full Time - Wheeling, WV, US

The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is to assist in day-to-day accounting functions and maintenance of financial records. This includes preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing monthly financial statements, and reviewing transactions in a timely and accurate manner. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

• Prepare journal entries and accompanying support.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly bank and account statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts associated with claims and third‑party administrative services.
• Assist with audit preparations.
• Maintain fixed asset register, including depreciation, additions, disposals, and gains/losses on sale.
• Process external commissions and statements on a monthly basis.
• Ensure timely completion of multi‑state regulatory filings and deadlines.
• Assist treasury with daily/weekly cash‑flow forecast schedules.
• Provide financial operation support/backup to the CDS division.
• Perform additional tasks and undertake specific projects as assigned to support Senior Accountants.

• Experience with monthly financial statement preparations and general accounting.
• Proficient computer, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• One to two years of accounting experience preferred.

8:00am - 5:00pm
