Schedule:
1 Grade 4 (Attached). Working Calendar: 187 Days / 7 Hours.
As per Board-approved salary placement rules/schedules.
Salary Range: $18.27/hr – $20.07/hr critical Need Stipend $3.50 per hour & ECE Instructional Assistant Stipend $1.00 per hour.
Exceptional Child Education (ECE) programs are designed to meet the needs of students whose approach to learning differs from that of their peers. The school district commits to delivering high‑quality education for students with disabilities using a variety of programs, techniques, methods, and materials for individualized instruction. ECE programs are offered to students with moderate to severe disabilities (MSD), mild mental disabilities (MMD), other health impairments (OHI), emotional behavioral disabilities (EBD), autism (AUT), visual impairment (VI), hearing impairment (HI), learning disabilities (LD), social communication, or combinations thereof.
Assignment changes may occur during a school year based on student and classroom needs, or between years when ECE allocations are reviewed.
Recognizes that all responsibilities are supportive. Assists in implementing each student's Individualized Education Plan. Helps establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment. Displays willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with positioning, toileting, and lifting as needed.
- Willingness to attend district ECE in‑service professional development.
** If your highest education is a High School diploma or GED, you must take and pass the Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score.
