Position
Aide V (Special Education Assistant Teacher)
Full-time, 200 days (7:35 a.m. ‑ 2:35 p.m., Monday‑Friday) at South Middle School.
Job
Qualifications- Must pass the Service Personnel Competency Test for "Aide".
- Personnel without the minimum requirements for Aide V permanent authorization but who are enrolled in and pursuing the requirements for a special education assistant teacher will be classified as "temporary authorization" (supervisory, paid at an F pay grade).
- Personnel who have completed the requirements and experience for a special education assistant teacher and are prescribed by the state board of education will be classified as "permanent authorization" (supervisory, paid at a G pay grade).
- Required courses will be offered by the West Virginia Department of Education and will be administered similarly to ECCAT courses.
- Personnel will have three (3) years to complete the required courses.
Salary based on experience and position per the attached salary schedule, plus a competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
