Elementary/Secondary Classroom Teacher – High School Teaching / Science – New Cumberland, West Virginia – Position Type:
Full‑time (High School Level). The successful candidate will hold a valid West Virginia teaching certificate for the designated subject area.

In accordance with the Hancock County Schools salary schedule for professionals, commensurate with experience and degree level. Evaluation:
Performance is evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with WV State Code § l SA‑2‑12, State Board Policy 5310.
Job Description
The teacher is responsible for the educational program within the classroom and to perform duties as required by the building principal.
Functions and Responsibilities- Provide individualized attention to each student to achieve the highest possible potential.
- Record and report student achievement fairly and accurately, regardless of attitude, personality, or conduct.
- Maintain professional conduct with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
- Complete all reporting required by the immediate supervisor.
- Assist with hall, bus, lunch duty, and other supervisory tasks as needed.
- Perform additional duties as determined necessary by the principal.
- Implement the approved program of study.
- Create a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Use instructional management systems to enhance learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
- Promote and maintain positive pupil–teacher–parent relationships.
- Demonstrate professional work habits, attitudes, and appearance.
- Incorporate differentiated instruction.
- Co‑teach when applicable.
- Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within the school/classroom.
- Integrate technology within the school/classroom.
