Dean of Restorative Practices Role SummaryThe Dean of Restorative Practices (DRP) leads the school’s restorative practices programming, progressive discipline, and implementation of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment. The DRP implements, facilitates, and maintains behavior management systems so all students, staff, and families understand their role in supporting a safe campus culture. The DRP communicates with campus, community, and district stakeholders and partners with the Principal and Assistant Principal to report high‑level disciplinary documentation to the board and district.

- Cultivate a positive, inclusive school climate grounded in equity, restorative practices, and trauma‑informed approaches.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, staff, and the community through compassionate and collaborative leadership.
- Lead with self‑awareness, adaptability, and a growth mindset, modeling resilience, openness to feedback, and effective problem‑solving.
- Team Leadership
- Create systems that support the use of restorative practices and PBIS to maintain and repair relationships.
- Manage student investigations, inquiry, and resolution processes in observance of law and district expectations.
- Collaborate with site and district leadership to implement school culture initiatives based on data.
- Positive and Productive School Culture Leadership
- Partner with leaders to implement and manage a campus‑wide behavior framework (Tier 1–3).
- Build staff capacity in restorative practices and proactive classroom systems.
- Collaborate with students, families, and MTSS teams to provide targeted supports and individualized behavior support plans.
- Monitor and analyze behavior data to inform decisions, ensure compliance documentation, and coach staff.
- Qualifications & Experience
- BA in an education‑related field.
- Fluency in Spanish or Korean (highly desired).
- 3+ years of teaching, counseling, or student support experience.
- Restorative Practices certification (highly desired).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including advocacy.
- Ability to connect and build relationships with students and families.
- Experience using data management systems.
- Experience working with youth from historically underserved communities.
- Experience in a fast‑moving environment; crisis management.
