As per Hancock County Schools salary schedule for professionals, commensurate with experience and degree level.
Performance evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designee in accordance with WV State Code §1 SA-2-12, State Board Policy 5310.
GENERALJOB DESCRIPTION
Under general direction and is responsible for the educational program within his/her classroom and performance and work as required by the building principal.
QUALIFICATIONS- Valid certification for the specific position from the State Department of Education for West Virginia.
- World Language Certification required. Spanish or ASL preferred.
- Provide individualized attention to enable each student to reach their highest potential.
- Record and report student achievement fairly and accurately, irrespective of attitude, personality, or conduct.
- Act professionally in dealings with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
- Report required data to immediate supervisor.
- Assist with hall, bus, lunch duties and other supervisory responsibilities as necessary.
- Carry out any additional duties deemed necessary by the principal.
- Implement the classroom program of study.
- Create a learning‑conducive classroom climate.
- Use instructional management systems to enhance student learning and maximize time on task.
- Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
- Promote positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
- Maintain professional work habits, attitudes, and appearance.
- Incorporate differentiated instruction.
- Co‑teach when applicable.
- Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
- Integrate technology into the school/classroom.
