Overview
Position:
Elementary/Secondary Teacher – Summer School Program (Teacher – Special Education) – Hancock County Schools, New Cumberland, West Virginia.
Dates:
August 3–14. Staff hours 8:00–11:30 am. Student hours 8:30–11:00 am. Mandatory preparation meeting July 30, 9:00–10:00 am (Teams).
- A. Provide individualized attention to help each student achieve their highest potential.
- B. Record and report student achievement fairly and accurately, following school policy and state regulations.
- C. Conduct professional interactions with superiors, co‑workers, parents, and students.
- D. Fulfill all reporting requirements dictated by the immediate supervisor.
- E. Support general school operations, including hall duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and other supervisory tasks as directed by the principal.
- F. Perform any additional duties required by the principal for proper school operation.
- G. Implement the approved program of study.
- H. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- I. Utilize instructional management systems to enhance student learning and maximize instructional time.
- J. Monitor and report student progress toward learning outcomes.
- K. Maintain and upgrade professional skills and teaching techniques.
- L. Promote and maintain positive pupil‑teacher‑parent relationships.
- M. Maintain a professional appearance and work habits.
- N. Incorporate differentiated instruction.
- O. Engage in co‑teaching when applicable.
- P. Implement Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) within the classroom.
- Q. Integrate technology within the classroom.
Must hold a current WVDE teaching certification in Multi‑categorical/Autism. Valid certification in the specific subject area is required by the West Virginia State Department of Education.
