The Business Relationships Development Coordinator will serve as a vital link between James Rumsey Technical Institute, local businesses, industry partners, and community organizations. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships that enhance student learning, expand work-based learning opportunities, and strengthen the connection between JRTI's programs and workforce needs. Additionally, the coordinator will research and pursue grant opportunities to support school initiatives and ensure the long-term sustainability of this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local employers, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and workforce agencies to support program growth and alignment with labor market needs.
- Collaborate with instructors and program coordinators to identify partnership opportunities that provide students with internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and employment pathways.
- Coordinate employer engagement activities such as advisory committee meetings, industry round tables, and school tours.
- Promote JRTI programs to the business community and highlight student success stories to strengthen community engagement.
- Research, identify, and apply for relevant local, state, and federal grant opportunities that align with the school's mission and priorities.
- Assist in writing, submitting, and managing grant applications and reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with administration to secure funding sources that sustain and expand CTE programs and the Business Development Coordinator position.
- Track and report partnership outcomes, including employer participation, student placements, and grant performance metrics.
- Support special projects and initiatives that enhance JRTI's visibility and relationships with the business community.
- Including but not limited to:
- JRTI career fair
- Community business facility tours
- Student industry tours
- Community liaison for social media connections between the school and local industry
- Bachelor's degree in business, Education, Marketing, Communications, or related field (master's degree preferred).
- Master's degree in educational leadership preferred
- Experience in business development, workforce development, or education-industry partnership coordination.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven success in grant writing and project management is highly desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and external partners.
- Knowledge of career and technical education (CTE) and local workforce needs preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online grant submission platforms.
- Professionalism, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Position Type:
Full-time, 240-day contract, Coordinator's stipend - Salary: JRTI pay scale commensurate with experience and qualifications
