Role DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced SCADA technician to join the Manufacturing Control and Execution Systems – Sustaining team. In this role you will be responsible for both maintenance and continuous improvement of SCADA and HMI applications for novel equipment used to manufacture Form Energy’s Iron‑Air battery. Reporting to our Senior Controls Engineering Manager, this team focuses on the entire lifecycle of control and execution systems, from design and development to deployment and sustaining.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial SCADA and HMI systems.
- Provide operator interface support for production operations and maintenance departments, including troubleshooting SCADA, HMI, MES, and issue resolution related to equipment and process downtime, throughput improvement, and safety concerns.
- Ensure operator interfaces and data acquisition systems function as designed.
- Make minor SCADA and HMI programming changes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshoot existing equipment.
- Use input from production, maintenance supervisors, operators, vendors, and service providers to improve troubleshooting support.
- Follow all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Engineers and other Technicians on new HMIs and MES configurations for deployment into production.
- Troubleshoot MES data records from Ignition Edge Gateways to the raw record database at the Ignition Gateway.
- Deploy SCADA and HMI hardware as needed.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience working on SCADA and HMI systems.
- Technical communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Rockwell FTView ME (Required, with supervision)
- IPC and Panel PC setup and deployment (Required, with supervision)

- Review/redline/read electrical schematics (Required, with supervision)
- Troubleshoot (Required, with supervision)
- OT Network
- Configure Siemens Scalance Managed Network Switches (Nice to Have)
- Troubleshoot (Required, with supervision)
- iba (Required, with supervision)
- Octoplant (Required, with supervision)
- Problem‑solving
- Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair controls components (Required)
- Attention to detail when testing and troubleshooting (Required)
- Recording data and documenting procedures (Required).
- Associate Degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—a convenient commute from Pittsburgh, PA. The 550,000‑square‑foot facility is our hub for high‑volume battery production and a leader in this new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
