Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, commissioning, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and production equipment for our next-generation energy storage technology. This role will work closely with senior manufacturing engineers, process engineers, operations, and technicians to develop robust manufacturing systems, improve production performance, and help scale manufacturing from prototype through high-volume production.
Responsibilities
- Support development and optimization of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and improve quality, yield, and productivity.
- Assist with commissioning, validation, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
- Work closely with operations and technicians to resolve manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
- Develop work instructions, manufacturing documentation, PFMEAs, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving tools and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in equipment design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and production readiness activities.
- Design or improve tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing aids to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, reliability, ergonomics, and manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Quality, Operations, and external vendors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 1–4 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, automation, or mechanical design (internship and co-op experience considered).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing equipment and production processes.
- Experience analyzing engineering or manufacturing data using Excel, JMP, Minitab, Python, or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues using a structured approach.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
This role is based at a facility in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. The 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Weirton, WV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
