Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a practical Staff Mechanical Engineer to act as the primary bridge between our electrical and mechanical design groups and the manufacturing floor during the entire product lifecycle. You will be tasked with championing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) strategies, facilitating the smooth movement of products from initial design to mass production, and assisting with prototype creation, manufacturing preparation, and ongoing product enhancements.

Successful applicants will be comfortable in a dynamic manufacturing setting, prefer spending time directly on the production floor, and possess deep expertise in high-volume electromechanical product development and interdisciplinary teamwork.

• Oversee the creation of mechanical parts and electromechanical systems, managing the process from initial concept to final production and subsequent cost-saving updates.
• Act as the main point of contact between the design team and production staff to ensure that design goals are fully compatible with manufacturing processes and requirements.
• Improve overall assembly speed, ergonomics, and automation readiness by leading DFM and DFA evaluations to enhance product manufacturability.
• Help ensure a smooth production process by performing hands‑on prototype builds, including fit checks, necessary rework, rapid prototyping, and troubleshooting.
• Work alongside technicians and diverse engineering groups to construct and verify initial prototypes, helping the team meet tight project deadlines.
• Maintain a record of manufacturing insights and design improvements to foster continuous product evolution and inform future iterations.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 7 years of practical experience in product development, specifically focusing on high-volume electromechanical goods.
• Solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles, complemented by a working understanding of electrical systems and their integration.
• Proven ability to design or support various components, such as busbars, wire harnesses, PCBA assemblies, sensors, control panels, sheet metal, and plastics.
• Skilled in using 3D CAD software, PLM systems, and managing BOMs and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational and communication capabilities, allowing you to effectively solve problems and balance competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience utilizing GD&T and tolerance stack‑ups within high-volume production environments.
• A background that includes production support, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Prior involvement in supporting complex electromechanical systems, such as high‑voltage products or battery systems.
• Working knowledge of communication protocols like Ethernet, LIN, or CAN.
• Experience assisting with design validation, root cause analysis, production ramp‑ups, and rapid prototyping.
