Position: Business Analyst - Application Systems Support (RAPIDS/IES)

The Office of Shared Administration, Office of Management Information Services (OMIS), is seeking a skilled and collaborative Business Analyst. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of applications and systems within the RAPIDS/IES environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of application systems to meet agency goals.
  • Define project scope and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient use of team resources.
  • Utilize OMIS leadership-approved methodologies and tools to monitor and control project progress.
  • Promote and apply enterprise tools, support standards, and best practices for application and database development.
  • Work with end users to gather business requirements, conduct process analyses, and create conceptual system designs.
  • Review application modification requests to ensure alignment with support standards and industry best practices.
  • Assist team members in troubleshooting and resolving application performance and reliability issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university.

Substitution (Training): Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Four years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.

Substitution (Experience): Post-graduate education in a field related to the technical or program area may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one year of experience.

Special Requirements Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

One year of basic sign language classes may be required in addition to the above minimum requirements.

West Virginia Cancer Registry

Applicant must hold the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) credential or have five (5) years of cancer registry work experience. Three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the Health and Human Resources series may substitute for the required training and experience.
