Here's a job description for a General Worker / Relief Coater at CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc.: CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and versatile General Worker / Relief Coater to join our manufacturing team. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient production operations and ensuring quality standards are met.

The General Worker / Relief Coater performs a variety of tasks supporting manufacturing operations, including assisting with machine operation, material handling, quality control, and providing relief coverage for coater operators to ensure continuous production.

• Assist machine operators in setting up, running, and monitoring production equipment.
• Load and unload materials from production lines, ensuring proper inventory and material flow.
• Perform quality checks on finished products, identifying and reporting any defects or inconsistencies.
• Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely to move materials as needed.
• Provide relief coverage for coater operators during breaks, lunches, and other absences, ensuring continuous coating operations according to specifications.
• Monitor coater parameters, make minor adjustments, and report any issues to the supervisor or experienced operator.
• Clean and maintain work areas, machinery, and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
• Support other production and general labor tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) is a plus, or willingness to be trained and certified.
