Additional Details:

• Travel radius 50 miles; resume must include a copy of candidate’s unexpired driver’s license.
• Hospital: 30 beds; nurse to patient ratios 1: 4-6 depending on acuity.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS.
• Common patient types: cardiac, post-pneumonia, post-cath lab, seizures, ETOH-CIWA, pacemakers, etc.
• Must have 2 years of Stepdown/PCU experience and be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips; RNs must titrate drips such as cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, angiomax.
• Charge nurse per shift: day shift charge takes a lighter assignment unless necessary; night shift charge takes a lighter assignment as well.
• Nurse aides/ patient care techs available; duties include ADLs, vitals, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, blood sugars.
• Hospitalist, intensivist, and respiratory therapist available 24/7; RNs expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment and interpret telemetry.
• Scheduling: 7-7 shift blocks; staff may create ideal schedule; no finalized until schedule completed.
• Weekend, holiday, floating and stand‑by: weekend open‑ended; holidays may be required; no standby requirement; travelers can float to any inpatient unit with priority to float.
• Scrub color/dress code: navy blue.
• Orientation: 2 days general orientation, 1 day with preceptor.
