Role DescriptionThe Metrology Calibration Technician based in Weirton, WV will perform a vital role as a hands-on quality team member at Form Energy. You will inspect, calibrate, and adjust measurement and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards and specifications. Perform routine testing, inspections, and diagnostic evaluations using specialized calibration tools, software, and instrumentation to identify equipment discrepancies and performance issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance and repair activities, including disassembly, cleaning, component replacement, and functional verification of test and measurement systems. Accurately document calibration results, inspection findings, maintenance activities, and job records in accordance with quality management system requirements and industry standards such as ISO, NIST, and GMP. Support Product Control Plans by performing measurements, tests, inspections, and audits, while entering and maintaining quality data within the Quality Management System (QMS).
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on quality procedures, inspection methods, and calibration processes. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas within inspection, metrology, and production environments, proactively identifying process variations, material concerns, and quality issues to support product integrity and operational excellence.
- Equipment Calibration:
Inspect, test, and adjust measurement devices against established standards to verify proper output and accuracy. - Testing & Diagnostics:
Conduct routine inspections and use specialized diagnostic tools and calibration software to identify faults or discrepancies. - Maintenance & Repair:
Perform preventive maintenance, disassembles units, clean parts, and execute repairs on faulty or damaged testing equipment. - Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate calibration records, write reports, and complete job cards in compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO, NIST, GMP). - Perform measurements, tests, inspections, and audits to support Product Control Plans and input results into our Quality Management System.
- Provide feedback on quality procedures and tools to achieve continuous improvement.
- Help maintain clean, organized inspection environments in our receiving area, metrology lab, and on the production floor.
- Have an eye for quality and flag changes or concerning variations in processes and materials.
- Be a champion for safety in all of their work.
