Job Description

The Apprentice HVAC Commercial Technician will assist with installing commercial and industrial heating and cooling equipment (rooftops, furnaces, central air conditioners, commercial refrigeration equipment).

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work with others on a team to learn and maintain HVAC systems (Hydronic, Steam, Forced Hot Air, and Heat Pumps).
  • Work with others on a team to learn and perform the following tasks: read schematics, diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC equipment, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment all while maintaining a high standard of mechanical installation practices.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in a field in a commercial/industrial/ residential environment or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
  • Must multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e., DMV, criminal history).

Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl often. The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals requiring safety data sheet knowledge.
