Job Description
The HVAC Helper assists HVAC Technicians and Installers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a long‑term career in the HVAC industry through hands‑on experience and training.
Key Responsibilities- Assist technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and related equipment
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from company vehicles
- Stock, organize, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
- Cut, drill, and prepare openings for installation work
- Carry and lift equipment and materials (up to 100 lbs.) as needed
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, including job sites, vehicles, and warehouses
- Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and supervisor instructions
- Support field crews by retrieving tools, parts, and materials during installations and service calls
- Perform basic measurements, plumbing, and assembly tasks under supervision
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean background check
- Willingness to attend training seminars and classes to improve skills and knowledge
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to invest in personal hand tools used for HVAC service work
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including:
- Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Lifting up to 100 pounds
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and tools
- Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical concepts
- Previous construction or mechanical experience
- Hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced HVAC professionals
