To assure that all supplies and equipment are received in accordance with proper and prudent practice. Provides carrier service for supplies.

Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three (3) months clerical experience in hospital stores department.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processes and receives all supplies and equipment and distributes them to respective areas and maintains complete documentation of deliveries and files for deliveries in-house.
  • Receives incoming products at loading dock. Inspects items for damages or defects; verifies accuracy of shipment and matching items by code numbers, size and description on invoice, packing slips and purchase orders. Responsible to contact vendor regarding any or all of the above. Enters receipt of all items through Lawson system.
  • Reports substitute items or discrepancies in shipment and stock-outs, rejected items for poor quality or incorrect items on a daily basis to the Supply Coordinator. Signs delivery slip and marks information including items unit code and date received.
  • Carries or conveys items from receiving area to designated storerooms; stores perishable items on proper shelves.
  • Receives outgoing commodities for shipment from hospital departments; processes necessary paperwork and ships outgoing items via approved carriers. Tracks shipping when necessary.
  • Assist with physical inventory in stores.
  • Notify Fiscal Services and Bio Med of acquisitions of all capital equipment as it is received.
  • Ability to retrieve MSDS sheets from PC program.
  • Keeps dock areas clean and orderly at all times by sweeping and properly discarding boxes.
  • Attends necessary meetings and in services to meet educational requirements and for communication.
  • Daily morning delivery of receipts to the bank.
  • Operates moving equipment, pilot jacks, carts, and dolly.
  • Responsible for receiving dietary supplies and stocking shelves and freezer and rotating stock.
  • Act as a Courier when emergency supply is needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk short distances for eight or more hours.
  • Frequent bending, stooping or stretching.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues and maintains a safe environment.
Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic computer inputting.
  • Must possess effective reading and comprehensive skills.
