Bus Run:
Dependent on assigned bus run. Bus runs will be posted individually.
- Physically fit, according to the West Virginia School Transportation Regulations
- Must be 21 years of age
- High School graduate or GED
- Satisfactory driving record with the WV Dept. of Safety, including all qualifications set forth in the WV School Transportation Regulations
- Criminal background check conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-G-4
- Drug test conducted pursuant to Summers County Board of Education Policy IV-H-1
- Applicant will be considered in the order outlined in 18A‑4‑8b
- Responsible to:
Transportation Director, Superintendent or other designated school official - Supervises:
All passengers who ride the school bus - Run the school bus over its established route(s) daily during school sessions, picking up and discharging students at their designated stops
- Comply with West Virginia School Transportation Regulations
- Comply with the Summers County Transportation Policy
- Report to schools served and the transportation office by phone when the bus will not be making its run
- Work cooperatively with principals and teachers of schools served
- Report accidents, breakdowns, discipline problems and other issues promptly to the proper authority
- Report incidents and work cooperatively with the school principal and assistant principal
- Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned by the transportation director and the superintendent
- Remain effective until revised or rewritten by the superintendent
