SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager, transports supplies, equipment, materials, and other products to and from specified destinations and assists the truck helper in loading and unloading.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drives a truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, while assisting the truck helper to load and unload
  • Demonstrates safe driving habits and techniques
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all state and federal mandates concerning operations of truck equipment and maintains proper driver's license
  • Demonstrates proper loading and unloading techniques so as to preserve the integrity of the items being transported
  • Inspects truck equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, etc., and reports any item that is in need of repair
  • Assists in Distribution Center as required
  • Assumes any other duties as may be assigned
  • Conduct all deliveries with 100% accuracy
  • Perform all duties in a professional manner with great attention to detail. Be courteous, conscientious, cooperative and observant
  • Timely and accurately report completed deliveries including but not limited to the person who accepted the delivery, the location of where materials were left and if any issues arose during the course of the delivery process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of district personnel in a professional manner whether in person, over the phone or through email.
  • Computer and other technology skills required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess and maintain a valid Illinois Class "C" or better driver's license. This job requires the ability to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds, and periodically there is a need to lift in excess of 100 pounds, which may require assistance.

  • 1. X Climbing Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
  • 2. X Balancing Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when waling, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • 3. X Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • 4. X Kneeling Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • 5. X Crouching Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • 6. X Crawling Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • 7. X Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • 8. X Standing Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • 9. X Walking Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • 10. X Pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • 11. X Pulling Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
