The Pre-College Assistant Area Coordinator will have direct, primary supervision of all residence life components of a 3-week Pre-College program that serves 200-600 high school students from around the world. Train, supervise, and evaluate a team of Resident Assistants (RA) and together with Residence Life staff foster a residential environment that promotes and ensures learning, personal growth, mutual respect, acceptance, and security.

This role will also support various administrative processes (weekend away, budget & programming, move-in & move-out, residence hall living, etc.) and work directly with Residence Life staff to support the Summer Housing Program and various Residence Life & Housing special projects.
** WHAT YOU WILL DO
** Manage the day-to-day operations of a specific residence hall or residence halls of high school aged students living in on-campus housing and participating in the Pre-College Program. Maintain an active and involved presence in assigned residential area, particularly evenings and other times when students are most present. Counsel and advise students and refer to other college offices or community resources when appropriate.

Directly supervise, train, and evaluate 20-30 Resident Assistants (RA).Along with Area Coordinator, plan and implement a comprehensive training program for Pre-College RAs prior to the start of the program

Participate in weekly move in and move out processes and residence hall preparation.

Participate in the administrator on-call rotation and actively respond to a wide range of crises situations.

Serve as a mediator of conflicts that occur in the residential community between individual residents and/or groups

Liaise and collaborate with campus partners including Facilities, Wellness, Student Conduct, and Pre-College staff

Provide office support by working 5 hours per week at the front desk of the Student Life Suite assisting with housing related projects.

Attend weekly professional staff meetings and plan, manage, and facilitate weekly RA staff meetings.

Assist with managing budget and programming, as needed.

Assume additional responsibilities as required.

** WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
**** Bachelor’s Degree required and must be a matriculated graduate student**. Enrollment in a CSP, Counseling, or Higher Education Administration program preferred. Non-matriculated students engaged in appropriate coursework may be considered.

Must

Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Must have
** strong technology skills
** including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

** Must be able to work evening and weekends as required; live-on position; must serve on-call rotation.

This is a live-on, 8-10 week, full-time (35 hours per week) position within Babson College’s Office of Residence Life. Start date will be early June 2026 to early August 2026. Dates are flexible.

This position includes an on-campus apartment (either individual or shared apartment) within a residence hall and a taxable meal plan of monthly allotted dining dollars.
** ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
** Prior residence life experience, a positive attitude and awareness of social justice principles are preferred.
