Role DescriptionThe Interior Designers, Level 1 role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wellesley, MA. This role supports senior designers and project teams by assisting with programming, interior design concepts, space planning layouts, and the preparation of construction documents. Day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing and documenting FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), developing design presentations, helping coordinate material selections and finishes, and coordinating vendors visits.
The Interior Designer will collaborate closely with architects, consultants, and vendors to ensure design intent is accurately communicated and implemented. This position also involves maintaining project documentation, participating in client meetings as needed, and contributing to a collaborative, detail-oriented design process.
- Strong foundational skills in Interior Design and Space Planning to support project layouts and design concepts.
- Understanding of Architecture and its relationship to interior environments to ensure cohesive design solutions.
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience related to FF&E selection, specification, and scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design required.
- Experience with Programming tasks and construction drawings, including drafting, details, and documentation support.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.
- Strong visual, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and manage multiple tasks within project timelines.
- Experience in sustainable design practices is beneficial.
