Job Description
The program in Peace and Justice Studies at Wellesley College is seeking outstanding candidates for a two-year Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship, with expertise in conflict resolution/transformation, preferably on U.S.
-based conflicts. The position is open as to specific topics of research, which could include environmental justice, gender, militarism, nationalism, economic justice, religious peace building, or any others. The successful candidate will teach a total of four courses over two years, including a mid-level course in conflict transformation, and mid-to-upper-level courses on specific topics related to the candidate's research.
Service and Professional Development expectations shall be aligned with the Wellesley College-WOAW Collective Bargaining Agreement and shall include the following activities: teaching; writing grants; mentoring students; reading literature; pursuing professional development; and other tasks related to the Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow's project.
Mellon Postdoctoral Fellows are not expected to engage in first year or major or minor advising or service responsibilities.
Basic QualificationsThe Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to candidates who have been awarded a doctorate in any social science or humanities discipline, with areas of specialization and research in Peace Studies, Conflict Resolution, or related fields in the five-year period preceding the appointment and no later than June 1st, 2026.
