Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies

Full‑time, one‑year appointment
The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies invites applications for a one‑year full‑time position as Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor. The successful candidate will be a feminist scholar with a research and teaching focus on queer and trans studies. The department is committed to an intersectional approach.
Responsibilities- Teach Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies; teach either Intro to Queer Studies or Intro to Trans Studies per sample syllabus.
- Deliver 5 courses (2 in fall, 3 in spring).
- Hold regular office hours in person; respond promptly to student inquiries during the semester.
- Engage in professional development and departmental service as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
- No formal advising responsibilities.
- Teaching Load: 2 courses in fall, 3 courses in spring.
- Term of Appointment: 2026‑27.

Start Date:
July 1, 2026. - Minimum Salary: $75,295. Basic Qualifications
- PhD or terminal degree in a related field.
