Adjunct Faculty - Computer Science (Programming)

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. Faculty members are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program. Responsibilities include developing and teaching courses in areas of computer science, engaging, mentoring, and working with diverse student populations.
The candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration, and professional development.
- Prepare syllabi and develop curricula to address course/program requirements, and student learning outcomes to meet graduation competencies as appropriate;
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain excellence in teaching and learning;
- Submit midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
- This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
- Candidate must have 18 graduate semester hours in computer science.
- Experience or training in computer programming including languages such as Java, Python, Java Script, HTML, Robot C, and Visual C++.
- A PhD in Computer Science or related field;
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of affirmative action;
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Teaching experience in beginning and intermediate level computer networking;
- Experience teaching online courses using tools like Cisco Web Ex, ZOOM, Google Classroom, etc.
Salary Range: $1,397 - $1,585 per credit
