The Assistant Director is a financial aid professional responsible for counseling students and parents about financial aid and educational financing options, determining eligibility for institutional, federal, and state funds, and administering selected aid programs and departmental functions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct need analysis and verification, determine eligibility, and award financial aid for undergraduate and graduate students using Institutional and Federal Methodology.
  • Advise students and parents on aid application processes for federal, state, and institutional programs, and on educational financing options.
  • Assist students and parents with financial planning for their program of study.
  • Serve as counselor‑on‑duty in a three‑person rotation, providing assistance on financial aid, financing options, and Student Financial Services (SFS) services related to student accounts and payment options.
  • Administer selected aid programs such as federal and state grant programs, loan programs, donor‑funded scholarships, education abroad funding, award notifications, web and print publications, data analysis, federal work‑study, campus employment, and reporting.
  • Participate in the College’s enrollment management efforts, including on‑line and in‑person student information sessions.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in federal TitleIV and state financial aid programs.
  • Represent Babson’s mission, goals, and customer‑service orientation in all work‑related settings.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in financial aid administration.
  • Strong customer‑oriented, team‑based, technology‑intensive work ethic.
  • Continuous learning of technology/tools supporting effective business processes, including proficiency in PowerFAIDS, Slate, and Workday.
  • Excellent counseling, analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods, take thoughtful risks, and embrace change.
How and Where You Will Work

Hybrid schedule offered after an initial training period: minimum of 3 days a week onsite (up to 2 days remote). Some extended hours during orientation and admission recruitment events are required.

  • Pay range: $65,017 – $72,241 (exempt position). Eligible for performance‑based bonuses.
