Job Summary

Babson College is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students. The Assistant Director, Accessibility Services plays a key role in advancing this commitment by supporting students with disabilities and ensuring equitable access to Babson’s academic programs. Reporting to the Director of Accessibility Services, the Assistant Director provides direct student support while overseeing critical accommodation programs, including exam proctoring and note‑taking services, and serves as one of the key operational leads in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of students with disabilities, review documentation, determine eligibility, and recommend reasonable accommodations.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement approved accommodations and resolve accommodation‑related concerns.
  • Manage the Note‑Taking Accommodation Program, including recruitment, training, and supervision of student note‑takers.
  • Coordinate real‑time transcription and ASL interpretation services, as needed.
  • Manage daily operations of the Exam Proctoring Program, with increased responsibility during midterms and finals.
  • Provide guidance and training to students on assistive and adaptive technologies.
  • Collect and analyze program data; contribute to assessment, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Update Accessibility Services web content and support office operations as needed.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Accessibility Services peer assistants (front‑desk graduate student workers, exam proctors, exam readers and scribes).
  • Assist in developing and implementing program policies, procedures, workflows, and training materials.
  • Assist with updating departmental websites, forms, digital systems, and student‑facing resources.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Services, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section
    504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and accessibility practices in higher education.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across campus and with all populations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn systems such as AIM, Advisor Link, and Workday.
  • Ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work both independently and with teams.
  • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; willingness to acquire and utilize new skills and undertake challenging tasks.
  • Ability to envision and propose new methods, take thoughtful risks, and accept new initiatives and solutions to achieve results.
Work Schedule & Conditions
  • Some early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekend work.
  • On‑site work required 5 days a week; the on‑campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
Additional Skills
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Higher education experience in accessibility resources, academic support programs, or special education teaching experience preferred.
Compensation

Exempt position with a pay range of $60,554 – $67,282; eligible for performance and budget‑based bonuses.
