The Pre-Collegiate Program Community Engagement Assistant (CEA) is responsible for providing mentorship and support for the experiential, co‑curricular, and academic components of the Pre‑Collegiate Program. This position will live in the residence hall along with program students, and be engaging, visible, and accessible to students and the program throughout its duration.
Responsibilities- Regularly check in with an assigned group of students and ensure the safety of all participants.
- Create, coordinate, and implement extracurricular activities and supervise students at those and other program‑related activities.
- Uphold the values, policies, and procedures of the College and the Pre‑Collegiate Program.
- Build community through planning and implementing community building activities, including eating meals with participants.
- Support program faculty with in‑class needs such as group work, class assignments, and technology.
- Support scheduled arrival and departure days, including logistical preparation for each day.
- Participate in weekly participant orientations.
- Manage administrative tasks: rosters, keys, delivering mail/items, check‑in/out sheets, linen distribution and confiscation, purchasing, and event logistics.
- Participate in nightly residential room checks and report unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
- Participate in after‑hours on‑call duty rotation for emergencies and immediately address student needs.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and one‑on‑one meetings with the AAC or AC.
- Facilitate regular floor meetings and individual participant check‑ins.
- Complete paperwork, including incident reports, program proposals, flyers, etc.
- Assist with and participate in large social events and off‑campus excursions (day, evening, weekends as scheduled).
- Chaperone various events including class sessions, study sessions, class field trips, etc.
- May transport participants in a college vehicle if qualified to drive.
- Attend mandatory training prior to the Pre‑Collegiate Program and assume additional responsibilities as required.
- Completed at least one year of college by June 2026 (rising sophomore, junior, or senior) and currently matriculated.
- Demonstrates initiative, energy, enthusiasm, positivity, and ability to motivate others.
- Strong sense of responsibility, maturity, and a strong computer skill set (Google Drive/Docs, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent communication, coordination, creativity, and problem‑solving skills.
- Team player who works effectively with a diverse student body and staff.
- Ability to create an environment where direct reports have freedom and security to take initiative.
- Resilient, resourceful, optimistic, open‑minded, creative, and agile.
- Works independently to solve problems, take thoughtful risks, and act on new initiatives.

- Proficiency in Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Calendar).
This is a full‑time, temporary position working approximately 20‑30 hours per week from July into August 2026. The position requires the candidate to arrive on campus on July 5, 2026 by 2pm and remain on campus throughout the program. The role includes living in the residence hall with a single room and full meal plan while employed.
BenefitsPaid sick leave where required by law. Pay rate of $15.00 per hour.
