Salary: $2,580 to $3,018 per hour
Job SummaryTo assist the school librarians in the full utilization of library services, materials, and resources offered to students, faculty, and staff.
Performance Responsibilities- Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating, circulating, and using and creating library resources.
- Work collaboratively with the librarians to maintain library collection, resources, supplies, and space.
- Actively supervise students in the library during the school day and after school.
- Support the social and emotional needs of students through positive relationship building, appropriate support and engaging instruction.
- Coordinate and oversee library volunteers.
- Plan, create, and update library displays.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the school librarians.
- Maintain a record of regular attendance, arrive and depart at specified contractual times, and notify appropriate personnel when absent.
- Complete district approved de-escalation and safety training.
- Maintain an academic atmosphere in the library and develop positive relationships with students.
- Adapt and acquire new skills and knowledge and use them consistently to support the smooth and efficient running of the library.
- Multi-task and work well as a team member.
- Take initiative and work independently.
- Lifting and carrying boxes up to 25 lbs and accessing books on both low and high shelves.
