Job Title:

Civil Engineer (2 Positions Open – Project-Based / Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Franklin, MA (Hybrid Eligible)

Position Type: Hourly, Full-Time Hours (Project-Dependent)

Pay Rate: $35.00 – $37.00 per hour (Equivalent to $72,800 – $76,960 annually)

What You'll Do:

You will work directly alongside senior Professional Engineers (PEs) on diverse local projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in site visits and field inspections which include some physical activity in varying New England weather conditions.
  • Assisting with civil design, site layout, grading, and utility modeling using BricsCAD.
  • Preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, and drainage/hydrology studies.
  • Supporting the preparation of local permitting documents and environmental compliance forms for Massachusetts regulatory boards.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering (Recent graduates or upcoming graduates are welcome).
  • Skills: Baseline exposure to HydroCAD and CAD design software (experience with BricsCAD, AutoCAD, or similar platforms is highly valued; specialized training may be provided).
  • Certifications: EIT certification is not required to apply, but a strong desire to sit for and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is expected.
  • Attributes: Eager to learn, strong technical communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Employment Notice:

This position operates on an hourly, project-need basis. While we provide a full-time weekly workload, long-term employment is not guaranteed and is subject to project life cycles, funding, and contract availability. While our main office is in Franklin, MA, the initial project you will be supporting is located in Wellesley, MA, with some hybrid office/site flexibility available after onboarding. Interested candidates must be willing to commute to and work within the Wellesley/Franklin/Metro West area and must be capable of some physical activity in varying New England weather conditions.
