Join Sun Life's U.S. Controller's team as Director of Product Accounting, where you will lead critical financial reporting operations that drive business decisions across our Insurance and Financial Management division. • Lead a team of 3 professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
• Shape the strategic direction of product accounting operations, influencing how Sun Life measures and reports financial performance.
• Own the end‑to‑end monthly close process and quarterly/annual financial reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across IFRS, NAIC and U.S. GAAP accounting frameworks.
• Lead implementation of complex accounting guidance, translating regulatory requirements into actionable processes.
• Partner with business units to deliver insightful financial analysis that informs strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee audited financial statements for separate accounts and manage relationships with internal and external audit teams.
• Champion new product accounting frameworks and system implementations, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance controls and leverage technology.
• Collaborate across finance, business, and support functions to deliver integrated solutions.

• 8+ years of progressive experience in large financial institutions with demonstrated expertise in quarterly/annual reporting, audit coordination, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
• Fluent in SAP, Hyperion and Tableau with advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; strong foundation in life insurance accounting and separate accounts.
• Experience with IFRS, NAIC and U.S. GAAP accounting preferred.
• Exceptional communicator who builds trust, develops talent and translates complex financial concepts for diverse stakeholders.
• Driven by continuous improvement with a track record of implementing complex solutions in regulated environments.

• Education:
  
  BS in Accounting, Finance or related field.

• National average salary range: $139,000 – $208,500 (competitive nationwide).
