Responsibilities include receiving, dispatching and recording telephone and radio communications, as well as NCIC and LEAPS communications according to FCC and Department regulations. Dispatch vehicles to calls for assistance, keep police and fire personnel informed of facts affecting safety or efficiency, and perform typing and clerical functions. Must be able to work any of three scheduled shifts and have flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to type 35 words per minute. Knowledge of public safety dispatching, E‑911, and computer-aided dispatching is preferred.
