The Town of Wellesley’s Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF) is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week)
Permit Verifier/Trash Collector
. Under the general supervision of the Superintendent, RDF, this position is responsible for the issuing of RDF permits and waivers to eligible parties. The incumbent operates diesel and gas powered equipment including forklifts, small bucket loaders, and small trucks. The incumbent collects solid waste and recyclables from the DPW/MLP complex and from an established route of trash bins throughout the Town’s business districts.

The incumbent collects recyclable materials from all Town buildings, including schools, and transports them to the RDF for recycling. The incumbent participates in a strategy designed to maximize the Town’s revenues by removing these recyclables from the waste system and in the RDF’s continued efforts to maintain a high standard of service delivery to its customers.

Minimum requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; valid MA Class D driver’s license; MA Hoisting Engineer’s License, Classes 1C and 2C; ability to deal effectively with the public; ability to maintain accurate records; and the ability to lift and/or move 100 pounds. The incumbent is required to participate in the Town’s snow and ice control program and to be available for stand‑by, emergency and weekend duties as needed.

The hourly rate of pay is $21.24 – 28.53
, depending on qualifications and an excellent benefits package (health and dental insurance, vacation and sick time, retirement plan, etc.).
