Newton Pediatrics is a privately owned pediatrician’s office that proudly serves families with two convenient locations in Wellesley and Waltham, Massachusetts. Newton Pediatrics is part of The Pediatric Physicians' Organization at Children's (PPOC) which is a state-wide network of independent pediatric primary care practices affiliated with Boston Children's Hospital. PPOC practices have made behavioral health an integral part of pediatric primary care, with Primary Care Providers working hand-in-hand with integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians to provide whole child care to their patients with a pediatric medical home.
The successful candidate will join a practice to deliver co-located and integrated behavioral health services and to serve as a consultant to the care team. Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative service delivery, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility and adaptability required to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, medical practice.
Responsibilities of the clinician:- Complete initial consultations and scheduled follow-up care as needed to patients of the practice
- Provide short-term follow-up care to patients and families
- Deliver evidence-based interventions to help children and families achieve targeted goals
- Develop a comprehensive treatment plan involving youth, family and pediatrician
- Provide consultation to primary care providers and clinical staff on mental health and behavioral concerns
- Maintain documentation in the practice's electronic health record (EPIC)
- Help advance the practice's integration efforts through participating in team meetings and professional development opportunities
- Help support the medical home team in making referrals to community-based providers and services
- Assist the primary care team in implementing BH clinical guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education
- Full time position but flexibility in making own schedule/hours
- In person at both Waltham and Wellesley location
- Virtual hours available (Roughly 10 hours a week virtual)

A Master's or Doctoral degree in a mental health field from an accredited graduate program
- A license for independent practice in Massachusetts (Psychologist, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT)
Experience providing assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents, and
families
Preferred qualifications:Experience in pediatric primary care or other pediatric medical setting
Experience with behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief,
solution-focused interventions is highly desirable
