The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports full-cycle recruitment for staff, union, temporary, and seasonal roles. This position partners closely with hiring managers, ensures compliance with employment laws and union requirements, and maintains accurate data and workflows in Workday. The Specialist also manages temporary position end-date tracking, onboarding coordination, and select HR operational processes.
** WHAT YOU WILL DO
*** Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned staff, union roles, and temporary, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
* Source passive candidates using platforms such as Linked In and Indeed.
* Maintain and monitor end dates for temporary employees; coordinate extensions and updates as needed.
* Responsible for interview scheduling and logistics for assigned positions; may schedule campus/digital interviews for search committees and hiring managers.
* Responsible for all union hiring, promotions, job changes as per the union contract.
* Conduct reference checks using Skill Survey, selecting the appropriate behavioral-based survey for each role.
* Draft offer letters and ensure all offer details are accurate and aligned with policy.
* Initiate background checks and manage all pre-employment screening steps to ensure timely onboarding.
* Ensure accuracy and timely completion of Workday business processes related to hiring, job changes, and onboarding.
* Responsible for managing the unpaid internship, volunteers, and affiliates processing including but not limited to managing requirements and uploading to Workday.
* Serve as point of contact for staffing agencies.
* As part of the HR team, serve as the back-up for the HR Office Administrator providing coverage as needed.
* Perform HR project management as assigned and participate in campus events on an as needed basis.
* Make recommendations for process improvements to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
* Responsible for self-initiating learning new skills and developing within one’s area.
* Assume additional responsibilities as required.

** WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
**** Associate’s Degree (in related discipline preferred) or equivalent skills/experience
**** A minimum of 2-3 years of human resources recruitment coordination experience required.
** Must have a proven track record of promoting and adhering to client excellence and recovery, high standards of professional behavior, code of conduct, compassion, and team approach.
