Duration: 3 months to start, with potential for extension

About the Opportunity

Our client in the Wellesley area, is seeking a Learning & Development Specialist to join their Human Resources team on a temporary basis. This position will provide coverage for a leave and is expected to last approximately three months, with the possibility of extension.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced L&D professional who enjoys being hands-on with program coordination, training logistics, learning technology, and employee development initiatives.

The Specialist will work closely with the Director of Learning & Development and primarily support learning programs for managers and employees. The role will involve coordinating training sessions, booking facilitators and breakout spaces, managing program communications and participation, supporting program delivery, and maintaining learning resources within the organization's Learning Management System (LMS).

Recent program topics have included imposter syndrome, LGBTQ+ and inclusive excellence, difficult conversations, and generational differences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the execution of employee learning and development programs from planning through delivery.
  • Schedule trainings, facilitators, breakout rooms, and other program logistics.
  • Create, curate, and manage learning pathways within the organization's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support the development of digital and in-person learning opportunities, including microlearning.
  • Manage communications, registration, participation tracking, and reporting for manager development programs.
  • Support programs designed specifically for managers, who typically participate in sessions approximately every six weeks.
  • Partner with HR, business leaders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure learning initiatives align with organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate online compliance training, including registration, reporting, and assessment.
  • Manage project timelines, internal stakeholders, vendors, budgets, and other program requirements as needed.
  • Facilitate or support professional development workshops and peer-to-peer learning sessions.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve and streamline L&D processes, including data collection, communications, and post-program follow-up.
  • Manage and promote digital learning resources to help build a strong learning culture.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers on the use and adoption of the LMS.
  • Analyze learning and participation data and provide regular reporting.
  • Maintain online L&D resources and content.
  • Research and recommend learning technologies that can improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching and organizational support as needed.
  • Take on additional L&D projects and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, training, employee development, HR, or a related field.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS) is required.
  • Experience designing, coordinating, and implementing learning programs in both digital and in-person environments.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience facilitating training or professional development programs for employees at varying levels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across an organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to use data and reporting to inform decisions and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Highly self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday Learning or another employee LMS.
  • Experience supporting manager development or leadership development programs.
  • Experience in a higher education, corporate, or similarly complex organizational environment.
  • Experience with learning technology, digital learning platforms, or process automation.
