Executive Director, C. Dean Metropoulos Institute Technology & Entrepreneurship

The Executive Director of the Metropoulos Institute for Technology and Entrepreneurship (Metropoulos) is responsible for leading the establishment, growth, and scaling of the Institute in collaboration with the Babson Community.

• Provides strategic direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Institute’s mission and goals aligned with the College’s Critical Few Objectives.
• Oversees day‑to‑day operations of the Institute, leads development and delivery of signature programs, manages the budget, and works toward financial sustainability through revenue generation and fundraising.
• Creates, leads, and maintains a world‑class advisory board with alumni, business leaders, technology and AI experts, and other stakeholders.
• Partners with Babson College units—including Center and Institute Executive Directors, President’s Office, Academic Affairs, Division Chairs, Undergraduate School, Graduate School, Executive Education, Advancement, College Marketing, Center for Career Development, and IT—to integrate technology, AI, innovation, and entrepreneurship into all levels of curriculum.
• Works closely with the Advancement team to identify and pursue funding opportunities and to engage alumni, parents, sponsors, foundations, and other stakeholders.
• Meets with high‑level donors, creates programs for advancement, and develops key relationships to optimize annual giving plans.
• Ensures revenue generation and funding sources exceed Institute expenses, achieving self‑sustainability.
• Works with Faculty Chair and Academic Affairs to pursue grant opportunities supporting the mission.
• Oversees development of signature programs, partnering with faculty on multidisciplinary research, case studies, experiential learning, and teaching/coaching responsibilities.
• Serves as the voice of Metropoulos within the internal Babson community and external stakeholder engagements, including media relations, public settings, conferences, and meetings.
• Collaborates with College Marketing to meet communication objectives and awareness goals.
• Builds relationships with external stakeholders, programs, and organizations aligned with the institute’s mission.
• Manages the annual budget process and financial updates, ensuring accountability with the Finance team.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

• Master’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 10–15+ years of technology, AI, tech‑enabled entrepreneurship, or related leadership experience.
• Experience building and managing high‑profile new initiatives, ventures, or programs.
• Strategic opportunity, business development, and competitive assessment experience.
• Proven fundraising ability.
• Exceptional entrepreneurial leadership and ability to act in uncertain environments.
• Significant personnel management experience and ability to lead non‑direct reports.
• Experience working within a leadership team coordinating internal and external partners.
• Self‑starter with judgment, creative problem‑solving, and resilience.
• Understanding of international cultures and business practices.
• Program and project management expertise.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong financial, budgetary, presentation, database, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects concurrently, and thrive in a fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment.

• Preferred:
  PhD.

• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as appropriate.

Pay range: $185,555–$206,172; bonus eligibility based on performance and budget.
