The Opportunity

The Parking Assistant/Manager supports the daily operations and administration of parking management efforts and needs on campus. They will work closely with the Executive Director/Chief of Police as well as other members of the Public Safety team to develop and manage strategic plans and initiatives for the department in areas including Parking and Transportation.

What You Will Do
  • Manage Babson and Olin College parking needs, including permit registration and distribution, equipment maintenance, service support, organization of the parking appeal board, parking appeals, billing, processing revocation letters, and management of parking-related communications and requests (medical passes, carpool passes, visitor parking, and non-affiliated town related parking).
  • Collect parking data for strategic planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Help prepare and present parking-related agenda items to internal and external departments, collaborating with Facilities on parking signage issues and requests.
  • Learn and maintain databases and systems related to parking management (T2 Parking Management System).
  • Supervise all parking and transportation technical support, including record maintenance, procedure updates, supply inventory management, and scheduling maintenance of T2 Parking software and equipment. Work closely with T2 system support and ITSD to address system issues.
  • Support administrative efforts with other campus transportation means, including electric parking spaces and Zipcars.
  • Develop and implement programs for the daily function of parking management.
  • Recommend parking policies, rates, and programs to leadership.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, written and oral, providing conflict resolution and direction.
  • Assist with all billing efforts regarding parking management (permits, citations, vehicle tows).
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and promotional strategies for the Parking Department, including website management.
  • Help implement strategic expansion of parking, new revenue streams, marketing and communication plans, and technology elevation.
  • Research and develop data-driven policies and procedures, staying updated with campus parking and transportation industry trends.
  • Collaborate with campus partners such as Facilities, ITSD, Housing, Events Management, Athletics, and Student Financial Services to support efficient parking management.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and special projects as required.
What Education and Skills You Will Need

High School diploma and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty. Strong communication and customer service skills. Strong management and leadership skills. Basic accounting skills. Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks;

and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results. Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.

How and Where You Will Work

This is an in‑person position scheduled during normal business hours. Responding to various locations on campus for parking-related issues may be required. The position may require off‑hours work during certain times of the year. Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year and maintain an insurable or satisfactory driving record. Must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment.

Annual or more frequent reviews of the employee’s driving record are based on the College insurer’s criteria. Safety training as required by management must also be completed.

Additional Skills You May Have
  • Customer Service experience a plus.
  • Experience in project management preferred.
  • Experience with database management, Remedy Force, MS‑Office, Parking Management system, and SharePoint preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

This is a non‑exempt position with an hourly rate of $31.00. The position includes paid sick leave where required by law. Eligibility, accrual, and usage follow applicable state and local regulations.
