AboutWellesley Country Club And Community
Nestled in the picturesque New England town of Wellesley, Massachusetts – widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and desirable communities in the country – Wellesley Country Club enjoys a rich heritage rooted in both American and local history. The town’s origins date to the earliest English settlements of the 1630s and it has long been home to distinguished leaders, authors, artists, and innovators.
The land on which the club stands holds its own historic significance, dating to a 1665 land grant and serving as the assembly point for the West Needham Minutemen, who marched to Lexington and Concord at the outset of the American Revolution.
Founded in 1910, Wellesley Country Club has established itself as one of the premier private clubs in the Northeast. Set amid rolling landscapes and anchored by a stately clubhouse, the club is celebrated for its welcoming, family‑centered culture and deeply engaged membership. Its renowned golf course reflects a remarkable architectural pedigree shaped by legendary designers Donald Ross, Wayne Stiles, and Geoffrey Cornish—one of only two courses in the country influenced by all three architects.
The club’s championship‑caliber layout has hosted numerous prestigious USGA and Massachusetts Golf Association events throughout its history.
The club’s impressive 56,000‑square‑foot clubhouse, completed in 2008, serves as the social heart of the membership experience, offering a variety of dining venues ranging from casual family gatherings to refined dining occasions, as well as elegant spaces for weddings, celebrations, and special events.
Beyond golf, Wellesley Country Club offers an exceptional collection of amenities designed to serve members of all ages. The club’s racquet sports facilities are among the finest in the region. The club’s highly regarded tennis program offers year‑round play through indoor facilities and eight outdoor clay courts, while its paddle tennis program features four courts and a dedicated paddle hut.
Demonstrating a continued commitment to enhancing the member experience, the club recently completed a transformative $15 million capital investment highlighted by a 42,000‑square‑foot Sports Complex featuring four indoor tennis courts, eight pickleball courts, and two state‑of‑the‑art golf simulators.
