Title:
Rink Assistant, Babson Skating Center

General Manager, Babson Skating Center
The Rink Attendant is responsible for managing the ticket window, providing customer service, working in the concessions stand as needed, and performing general facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities- Checking in customers upon arrival and ensuring all visitors follow College and facility protocols.
- Managing the ticket window and processing transactions, receiving money, giving change, and entering sales into software.
- Working in the concessions stand when open, including managing the cash register and performing cooking/cleaning tasks as needed.
- Following, communicating, and enforcing established safety guidelines at all times.
- Assisting with general maintenance and cleaning of rink property, including sanitizing, emptying and relining trash receptacles, sweeping and vacuuming floors, and cleaning locker rooms, bench, and bleacher areas as needed.
- Checking restrooms, official’s room, locker rooms, lobby, and other areas to ensure building is empty when closing.
- Assisting in the general maintenance of the skating center grounds and property, including snow removal and landscaping duties.
- Assisting in game management as needed for MIAA, Babson College hockey games, and other special events.
- Assisting and supporting the efforts of the General Manager.
- Assuming additional responsibilities and duties as required.
Minimum Level of
Education Required:
High School Diploma
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on a customer‑centric approach to problem solving.
- Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support the organization; takes thoughtful risks and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought‑after results.
- Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
Ability to work late evenings and weekends.
Additional Experience, Skills & AbilitiesRetail and/or customer‑service experience preferred. Comfortable with computers and handling money.
