Overview
First Citizens Bank has an incredible opportunity for a Sales Support Specialist (Commercial Lending Assistant). We are hiring banking professionals who have had proven success in their past careers, are self‑motivated, and possess strong relationship building skills. This role is an integral part of our team, partnering with Commercial and/or Business Banking groups in the sales, servicing and management of clients and loan portfolios.
LocationThere are no remote capabilities for this position at this time. The candidate will work full‑time from 336 Washington Street in Wellesley, MA and travel as needed to 53 State Street in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities- Ongoing Sales Support:
Provide ongoing sales support to Lenders, including identifying sales and cross‑sell opportunities, coordinating materials for presentations, setting up sales calls, maintaining prospect lists, and making joint calls as needed. - Documentation Support:
Originate, process, and ensure accuracy of loan documentation for closings, including entering financial information into the loan system and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included in the loan package prior to closing. - Ongoing Credit Servicing Support:
Resolve documentation exception issues, maintain service levels, update financial statements, and prepare files for all portfolio reviews. Run reports to track maturing lines/loans and service levels. - Monitoring of Past‑Due Credits:
Communicate, report, and follow up on portfolio past dues to ensure they remain current while maintaining customer contact. - Ongoing Customer Service/Office Support:
Coordinate opening of deposit and other banking services with branch partners. Handle customer requests for information and problem resolution.
- High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in sales or lending support.
- Bachelor’s Degree with experience in sales or lending support.
- Must have 1+ years of experience in banking, ideally in a lending‑specific role.
- Experience with Real Estate and UCC lending requirements.
- Experience assisting multiple bankers throughout the process.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on compliance and risk awareness in a banking environment.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
If hired in Massachusetts, the base pay for this position is generally between $30.94 and $41.85. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non‑discriminatory factors permitted by law.
