The Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works is looking for a full‑time Water & Sewer Maintenance Worker for the Water & Sewer Division. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in performing skilled, semi‑skilled, and unskilled labor relating to water, sewer, and related construction work.
The incumbent's primary responsibilities include using manual or power hand tools and assisting in the inspection, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the Town’s water and sewer infrastructure. Work involves the use of construction equipment including Class D vehicles, excavators, backhoes, forklifts, power tools, manual tools, and other equipment. The position also requires participation in the Town’s snow and ice control program and availability for stand‑by, emergency, and weekend duties as required.
Requirements- Must possess a valid MA Class D license
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A good employment record
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Hoisting Engineer’s License classes 2A and 1C within one year of hire
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to use hand and power tools
