Overview
We are looking for 2 talented Engine Workshop Technicians to join our team specializing in Service for CUK SERVICE in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. This is a permanent contract working Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00am. You will be carrying out troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls on a range of Cummins heavy‑duty engines within the Wellingborough Service Workshop, from small capacity engines to high horsepower products for markets including industrial, defence, and locomotive.
Working to the documented service procedures and within the health and safety guidelines, you will complete all work and documentation on time and to a high standard.
- Efficient Repairs – apply documented procedures and policies to ensure basic repairs and scheduled maintenance are completed efficiently and correctly.
- Quality Inspections – disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and components to maintain high‑quality standards and prevent future issues.
- Accurate Documentation – assist with completing required documentation so that all work is properly recorded, crucial for warranty claims and quality control.
- Continuous Learning – complete training in line with skill and business requirements to stay up‑to‑date with the latest techniques and technologies.
- Workplace Organization – keep the cleanliness and proper operation of your work area and tools to create a safer and more efficient working environment.
- Safety Compliance – adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe workplace for everyone.
- Proactive Reporting – report any issues or incidents to your supervisor to address problems quickly and maintain smooth operations.
- Team Support – prepare required parts and tools to support your team in completing tasks more efficiently and contributing to overall productivity.
- Technical expertise: proficiency in using electronic service tools and a strong understanding of mechanical principles to diagnose and repair Cummins heavy‑duty engines efficiently.
- Attention to detail: the ability to follow documented service procedures meticulously and complete all work and documentation accurately and to a high standard.
- Safety compliance: a thorough understanding of and adherence to safe work procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
- Effective communication: skills in creating and verifying service documentation and the ability to elevate technical issues appropriately to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
- Experience repairing and rebuilding engines.
- Minimal level of workshop experience required.
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
- Locally valid driving permit (preferred).
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (preferred).
