CVL Systems designs, installs and maintains CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Automated Doors, Barriers and Gate systems for commercial, education and public sector clients across the UK.
As an NSI Gold accredited company, we operate to recognised British Standards and manufacturer specifications. Our technicians are expected to deliver work that is compliant, reliable and professionally finished.
We are recruiting for a new Service & Installation Technician suited to individuals already confident working independently without constant supervision, and who wish to develop within a structured career pathway.
The RoleThis is a field-based position covering installation, servicing and fault-finding across:
- IP CCTV
- Access Control
- Intruder Alarms
- Automated Doors
- Automated Gates & Barriers
You will:
- Install systems in line with manufacturer requirements and relevant British Standards
- Carry out PPM and reactive service visits
- Diagnose and resolve faults independently, without relying on routine remote support
- Complete accurate digital job documentation, asset updates and photo evidence using company PDA and laptop systems
- Provide clear remedial recommendations where required
- Communicate professionally with site managers and decision-makers
You will manage your own workload while maintaining high technical and behavioural standards.
What We’re Looking For- Minimum 2 years’ experience within electronic security
- Strong fault-finding capability
- Ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to pass BS7858 screening and enhanced DBS
- Experience across CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, Automated Doors and Gate systems
- Basic IP networking awareness
- Commissioning experience
- Ability to lead smaller installation projects
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- Demonstrable hands-on experience across multiple system types
We are open to ambitious junior technicians who are ready to step up, provided standards and attitude are strong.
Working Pattern- Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00 (normal hours)
- 1 in 8 callout rota (retainer paid), covering weekday evenings and shared weekend cover
- UK travel with occasional overnight stays

Training & OnboardingAll successful candidates must be capable of passing and or clearing:
- Enhanced DBS
- BS7858 Screening
Where required, CVL Systems will support relevant industry training and certification including:
- ECS or CSCS cards
- IPAF
- Product-specific manufacturer along with relevant H&S training
Ongoing development is expected as part of the role.
