Based in Wellingborough, this full-time Mobile Plant Mechanic position offers £19.19 per hour, working Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30. The successful candidate will service, repair and maintain varied plant machinery, conducting inspections, scheduled servicing and fault diagnosis while upholding strict safety and maintenance standards. Applicants should demonstrate proven mechanical expertise, strong diagnostic ability and a methodical approach to resolving technical problems. The contract runs for a minimum of twelve weeks, with possible extension for the right person.

Mobile Plant Mechanic Pertemps are recruiting for a Mobile Plant Mechanic to join our client's team in Wellingborough.

Location:

2-26 Rixon Road, Finedon Road Industrial Estate, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, NN8 4BB
Pay Rate: £19.19 per hour

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30

Contract:

Minimum 12 weeks, with the opportunity for extension for the right candidate.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join a busy workshop team. The role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment, resolving mechanical issues and ensuring high standards of safety and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out regular plant inspections and scheduled servicing.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical and mechanical issues.
  • Complete on and off-hire PDI inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams and management.
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices and operators.
  • Respond to unforeseen mechanical issues when required.
Requirements
  • Level 2 VQ in Plant Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience servicing and repairing plant and equipment.
  • A clean driving licence is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
