Role Description

The Service and Repair Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wellington. This role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults on lift systems, performing scheduled maintenance, and carrying out repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation. The engineer will conduct routine inspections, record service activities, and update maintenance documentation in line with company and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include working with bespoke lift installations, supporting refurbishment and modernization projects, and coordinating with colleagues and clients to minimize downtime.

The role also requires adherence to health and safety procedures and participation in occasional emergency call-outs or out-of-hours work as needed.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and contractors, and for documenting work clearly.
  • Practical electronics repair skills, including component replacement and basic circuit diagnostics.
  • Experience in maintenance & repair of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally within lifts, elevators, or similar industrial equipment.
  • Proficient troubleshooting abilities to identify faults quickly and apply effective solutions.
  • Soldering skills for safe and accurate repair of electronic components and connections.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to lift equipment and building services.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, and handle physical aspects of the role.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel locally to customer sites when required.
  • Previous experience in lift service and repair or a closely related field is highly beneficial.
