Ace Hardware is coming to Wellington. Opening early 2027.

We’re looking for a Store Manager to lead the new location.

You’ll be relied on to bring the Wellington store to life—leading a new team, teaching and developing employees, building relationships with customers and the community, and establishing strong day-to-day routines.

We’re looking for someone who wants to lead the store, not simply manage a shift.

The right person is engaged, proactive, curious, and comfortable taking responsibility. You pay attention, look ahead to what’s next, communicate clearly, follow through, and bring forward ideas or concerns rather than waiting for every next step to be assigned.

This is a broad role that requires you to move comfortably between people, customers, product, operations, and the business side of running a store. You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but you should enjoy learning, solving problems, and putting the pieces together.

You also understand that leading a store doesn’t mean doing everything yourself. You’ll build a capable team by setting clear expectations, teaching and developing employees, delegating responsibility, following up, and addressing problems when expectations aren’t being met.

The Store Manager is accountable for the overall leadership, performance, and day-to-day operation of Wellington Ace Hardware. You’ll lead and develop the team, ensure exceptional customer service and a store that is stocked and ready for customers, and oversee the people, inventory, staffing, and financial performance that keep the business running well.

Responsibilities can and should be delegated, but overall accountability for the store remains with the Store Manager.

Between now and opening, you’ll train at our Downtown Fort Collins location. Training will be comprehensive and hands‑on, combining time with experienced employees and managers, online and video‑based Ace training, and significant time working on the sales floor.

We don’t expect you to walk in knowing everything, but we do expect you to be curious and ready to learn.

• Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, depending on experience

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience required; retail or store management experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of hardware, home improvement, or related products preferred, along with a willingness to continually learn
• High school diploma or GED required
• Weekend availability required, with flexibility for evenings, holidays, and seasonal business needs
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable climbing ladders and working indoors and outdoors as needed
