UI/UX Design, Web Developer
We have some great digital projects underway and are looking for Senior Front End and/or Full Stack Developers to join our team and help bring them to market. With several exciting projects kicking off soon, we need people who can jump in confidently, collaborate across disciplines, and help us build high-impact, human-centred digital experiences.
About us
Alphero is a digital agency that blends strategy, design, and tech to help organisations reimagine how they connect with people. We work across a wide range of industries—from government to finance to energy—designing and building mobile apps, web platforms, and emerging digital products that are smart, scalable, and innovative. Our team is pragmatic, passionate, and focused on delivering quality outcomes.
About the work
- You'll be part of a tight-knit, cross-functional team working on meaningful digital products. Our front-end stack includes ReactJS, NextJS, and Type Script , with a focus on accessibility, clean design implementation, and micro-interactions, often using libraries like Lottie. A strong understanding of WCAG and modern UX/UI principles is essential.
- Many projects involve modern CMS implementations and API-driven interfaces.
Experience with headless CMS platforms (such as Contentful, Sanity, or Payload) and creating personalised user experiences is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud services like AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Dynamo
DB, S3) is a plus. The key is being comfortable building responsive, content-rich applications, working with APIs, and creating engaging, adaptive user experiences. - You may also contribute across the stack, from front-end to secure API layers, applying strong coding practices, reusability, and architectural thinking. We value developers who enjoy shaping how things are built, not just executing requirements.
We offer flexibility in hours and hybrid working options, including WFH a couple of days a week. Benefits include three months paid parental leave for primary carers, two weeks for secondary, and a day off on your birthday.
Great pay and perks
Competitive salaries, regular reviews, a new phone and plan after three months, and the latest tools and tech to support your work.
Opportunities for growth
In-house mentoring, peer learning, access to external courses, conferences, and programs like Te Ao Māori and accessibility training.
Our culture is inclusive and prioritizes wellbeing, with counselling services, wellness leave, discounted gym memberships, fresh fruit, and Fair Trade coffee. Social activities include movie nights, running groups, bake-offs, table tennis, Friday drinks, and a Christmas party.
Office spaces
Modern offices in Wellington CBD and Auckland CBD, equipped with sit/stand desks, breakout spaces, and comfy couches. We support bike commuting (racks, showers, towels) and love dogs in the office.
